A perfect dessert for summer season. It is a very simple recipe.
Saging con yelo is a banana cooked in brown sugar and served with crushed iced and milk.
Saging Con Yelo
Banana plantain cooked in brown sugar syrup with ice and milk
- 5 banana plantain
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 cups water
- 1/4 cup evaporated milk
- ice crushed
- In a pot, add water brown sugar and banana. Let it boil in low heat. Stir occasionally to prevent sugar from sticking in the bottom.Once the sauce is thick, caramel like, turn off heat.
- Remove banana from pot and put into a bowl. Add crushed iced and drizzle with evaporated milk.You can add as many or as little milk you like.
You can add drops of pandan extract or use pandan leaves while you cook the banana in water and sugar mixture.
