Paksiw na Pata

Another paksiw recipe but this one it uses pork hock or pata.

Paksiw na Pata

  • 2 lbs Pork hock
  • 1 twp garlic minced
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 2 cups water
  • 3 tbsp vinegar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup banana blossoms
  • 3-5 bay leaves
  • 1 tbsp pepper corn
  • salt/pepper


  • In a pot, boil pork hock. Boil for 20 minutes. Remove from heat, rinse hock under running water.
  • In a clean pot, boil water. Add pepper corn and bay leaves.
  • Add soy sauce and garlic.
  • Put in pork hock and simmer for 1.5hrs.
  • Add vinegar, do not mix/stir. Cook for 10 minutes.
  • Add banana blossoms. Cook for 5 minutes.
  • Add brown sugar and salt/pepper. Stir. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Serve.
